.. After patching up the wounded members the party pressed on, but what hit them earlier must have been merely an opportunistic scout patrol, as a notably greater number of goblins was waiting to catch them this afternoon, and with a shaman in their midst also .. this was a more prepared strike and did cause the party some consternation, although they were still dispatched without loss on the part of the group, our band was not without their scars. Discovering this band had come from a different direction than the lot they were tracking, they decided to follow these fresher tracks hoping for better luck.. What came next however must have seen Tymora smile broadly on this band...
Late in the afternoon, the young (in Elven terms anyway) Avariel, Aravilar, heard deep voices coming from beyond a low ridge to the north of the party .. When Ariadne returned from quietly scouting over the ridge line, what she reported as having discovered was disturbing .. A band of four Ogres talking over a camp fire and a collection of humanoid shapes next to them ..
Deciding on what seemed like a sound course of action to use missile weapons until the brutes had reached them and then let the heavier members of the group, Like Tharag and Bheurkint, engage the hopefully weakened  creatures and hold them long enough to finish them off, they attempted to sneak up to the ridge-line ... Unfortunately some the group have stealth-like abilities of a marching band and upon cresting the ridge they found the Ogres (now actually 5) also at the ridge-line. Inexperience took her hold again as Aravilar, who was meant to hold his position until all were engaged before flying round and attacking them from the rear, took straight to the air and over the lines at the largest of the giant-kin, swinging his Falchion wildly and loosing his balance spinning thought the air, much to the merriment of the ogre he was trying to attack. as did the ease with which his large spiked mace brought the Winged elf down to the ground and planting him heavily into the dirt .. dying ..
And he wasn't the only one to almost meet Kelemvor as only Alyssa, Ariadne and Logan were actually left upright when the last ogre fell.
Disposing of the Ogres and the humans who it was discovered were the disembodied corpses of Evenwood's caravan guards .. they dicided to spent the rapidly advancing night here and lick their wounds.

Around the camp-fire Logan spoke of a group of three humans, one of whom looked familiar to him, who disappeared into the hills and woods in the north .. and what he described turned Alyssa almost white ... She recognised the man he described as the former Lieutenant of the bandit lord Mirko Kolic .. the noted tracker and archer, and altogether unpleasant person .. Karvan Kane ....
